What we do at night, and what we don't
Tonight (8pm–8am)
Burst pipes and leaks. Blocked toilets, sinks and internal drains. Overflows and ball valves. Stopcocks that won't turn. No water. We find it, quote the fix on your phone, and with your yes stop the water and make safe. Callout first, work priced before it starts.
Tomorrow (quoted tonight, done by day)
Repairs beyond making safe: replacing the pipe, the tap, the cistern, the flexi. We photograph it, quote a fixed price on your phone, and you decide in daylight. Get a second opinion if you like.
Never at night
Gas and boilers. If you have no hot water or heating, we make the plumbing safe tonight and book a Gas Safe registered engineer for 8am. We never work on gas. External drain jetting. Anything outside E1, E2, E3, E8, E9 and E14.

Call the National Gas Emergency line now on 0800 111 999. Then WhatsApp us if there is also water.
How a night call works

A person replies.
Between 8pm and 8am a person replies on WhatsApp, not a bot. First we check nobody is in danger, then we get your water off and your electrics safe. Send a photo on WhatsApp if you can.

You know the price first.
£199 callout before midnight, £249 after, inc VAT. You pay it on your phone before the plumber arrives. Any work is quoted on your phone first and paid on top. Nobody asks for cash at your door.

You know who is coming.
A text with the plumber's name, photo, van registration, a 4-digit door code and an arrival window. Don't open the door to anyone without the code. We text before we knock.

Made safe, with the paperwork.
The plumber finds the problem and quotes the fix on your phone. Say yes and they stop the water and make it safe. Photos and a short report for your landlord, building or insurer by 8am.

Questions people ask at night
What is classed as a plumbing emergency?
Water you can't stop. Water near lights, sockets or the fuse board. Water coming through a ceiling, or going into the flat below. A toilet overflowing or sewage backing up. No water at all. A stopcock that won't turn. Those are tonight.
A dripping tap, a slow drain or a toilet that still flushes can wait for a daytime plumber, and we'll tell you so on the phone rather than send someone.
How much should I pay for an emergency plumber at night?
With us: a £199 callout before midnight, £249 after, inc VAT, paid before the plumber arrives. The plumber finds the problem, then quotes any work as a fixed price on your phone, paid on top. No admin fee.
For context: after midnight, London's large round-the-clock firms charge a one-hour minimum of £240–£294 inc VAT before parts (published rate cards, 25/09/2026). Many local firms publish no price at all and quote at the door.
How long will I wait?
You get an arrival window on the call, before you pay. We only accept jobs we can reach inside that window. If we can't reach you tonight, we say so and take no money.
Is there an all-night emergency plumber in East London?
Plenty of listings say "Open 24 hours". We can't tell you who picks up at 1am.
NightPlumber isn't open round the clock. We work 8pm to 8am, every night, in E1, E2, E3, E8, E9 and E14, and that is the whole business. By day we're closed and we say so. At night a person replies.
Do you do boilers at night?
No. We never do gas or boiler work at night. If you have no hot water or no heating, we make the plumbing safe tonight and book a Gas Safe registered engineer for 8am.
